Shri A. Sekar belongs to a family which was traditionally involved in Papier Machie craft and enjoys expertise in the craft and has experience more than 3 decades. He learnt this craft from his father. The Paper Machie craft is a popular craft work which is made of paper pulp coarsely meshed and mixed with copper sulphate and rice flour molded into the desired shape. Toys of Papier Machie is mainly based on Nature, mythology, folklore... These doll-makers use themes to entice the buyers.

Sekar, has trained more than 1,000 people. He helps several families market and display their products at showrooms including Khadi Crafts. “It does bring in good revenue as it has a good market,” says Sekar. The potters making the dolls, it is a matter of both economics and passion, with the entire family pitching in. Creative and innovative, they come out with new items every year. Sekar has travelled extensively worldwide and has given the demonstration of this traditional craft in various countries.
